Our palms are pressed together in the utmost respect and appreciation for all of our "uncrowned heroes and heroines", who deliver the Seikyo Newspaper and/or all our other SGI publications, and all those people who support and contribute articles to our publications, starting with those who are in charge of promoting and distributing. Let’s continue to expand the solidarity of hope in the new year as well!
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
Fresh new progress begins with fresh new goals! Life is about how we can press forwards from "this moment" starting from “this point” onwards. Let’s advance towards a victorious future!
It’s precisely during the busy times of the year (like the holiday season and year end) that it’s vital we base what we are doing on Daimoku first and foremost! The wisdom to battle all sorts of hardships and struggles as well as the protection we receive from the forces of the universe, all come from the depth and strength of our chanting.
This past year has shone brilliantly with our glorious victories! My deepest appreciation goes out to all of you, our SGI members, for your selfless dedication and devotion for the sake of kosen-rufu! It is absolutely certain that Nichiren Daishonin is praising us. In perfect unity, more cheerfully now than ever before, let’s aim directly at the Year of Developing Youth!
Our Dedicated Soka Group and Security Group members, who shoulder the responsibility for kosen-rufu of the next generation, are now exerting themselves in propagating this Buddhism. By winning over ourselves, no matter what we may be facing right now, let's write a new page in our own personal history of overcoming our self-made limitations!
When we’re driving back to our hometowns or other places (for the holiday season), let’s be sure to give ourselves ample time to get there. Also trying to do other things while driving (like using our mobile phones) or driving under the influence of alcohol are an absolute “NO”! Let’s be careful not to be overconfident or careless at all times!
It's important for parents to make an effort to spend quality time with their children. Let’s do our very best to listen carefully to what our children have to say, and create some precious memories with them! Let’s show them (the value and benefits) of our faith and practice of this Buddhism, starting with trying to create a harmonious family!
Our deepest appreciation must go to the Women's Division members who strive so hard to chant for the happiness of our friends and fellow members, and continue, as always, to encourage them! The women of Soka are indeed the very sun that illuminates our society!
It’s through “Castles of Trust” in the local community that the advancement of kosen-rufu steadily progresses! One of the biggest contributors to make this possible are the people who offer their homes as meeting places. Let’s always make a point to thank them and their family members, appreciating them wholeheartedly for their efforts and generosity!
To all of our friends who are making great efforts in their work workplaces, please use your wisdom in keeping your good health as one of your top priorities. Sincerity in your behaviour in the workplace always leaves a lasting impression of trust on others!
