As SGI heralds into year 2012 with the theme of Year of Developing a Youthful Gakkai, it commemorates the 50th anniversary of Kamata Chapter. A campaign where Sensei took the lead for Kamata Chapter to shakubuku 200 households within a month. It is without doubt the true disciples of Sensei worldwide is standing up to embark with the spirit of transforming the karma or destiny of that particular place—the spirit of the “threefold transformation of the land.”
Sensei shared in his lecture: The “Threefold Transformation of the Land”—Part 1 [of 2]
"The wide spreading of the Mystic Law serves as the fundamental driving force for transforming the world into a realm of peace and prosperity. All of you, my comrades in faith, are working together with me to fulfill this great mission that we proudly share. This is the most admirable life possible and the way to accumulate boundless good fortune and benefit."
(Translated from the December 11, 2008, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, the Soka Gakkai daily newspaper)
Will the change in GD signal a change in the nature of leadership?
From the religious oppression to one that leads the practitioners towards the path of absolute happiness?
Will SSA advance in tandem with the direction of SGI or remain in its own egoistic and obstinate direction?
Will they still be bogged down by the Lion King District (LKD) set by the ex-General Director Ong Bon Chai?
These are true concerns and voices from the ground.
Or else it would be like what it was shared by the ground, '换汤不换药'? It means 'Different broth but the same old medicine'. A deeper meaning and that is changes that is accomplished on the surface but not in its essence. It will depend largely on the 太上皇, the Retired Emperor who will or will not cling on to its power. Unless it appears to have a clean break from the old oppressive style of ruling. There again, it has to be at the mercy of 太上皇 to stop exerting influence on the new GD or worst, its supporters.
A smooth handover of Chief Executive Director(CED) from the office of Mr. Ong Bon Chai to Mr. Tay Eng Kiat may appear to be successful on the surface. Due to the fact that tonnes of dirt were swept under the carpet over an extensive period by the ex, I wonder how long the contemporary will take to clean. It will be even worst if the contemporary adopts the 'if I can't beat you, I join us' attitude and linger on with the dirts. Lets not forget that the contemporary was once a YMD Chief during his Youthful days. All the more he has to execute such impartiality. Therefore, we will have to depend on whether his fundamental enlightenment triumph over his fundamental darkness or vice versa.
To think that the bad old days are over is simply naive. In order for Kosen-rufu to advance limitlessly in Singapore, this evil influences have to be severed distinctly. Beside basing on prayers, more courageous people have to stand up and speak up to ensure that truth prevails.
Lastly, the editorial team would like to wish our readers a Happy and Fulfilling year!
