By lighting the way for others, we're able to light our own path. Let’s be a light of encouragement to those who are facing obstacles or are suffering. Let’s take a fresh new step forwards together!
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
Each Future Division member, without exception, is a truly capable person with a profound meaningful mission! With heartfelt cheers of encouragement, let’s help these young people to grow into the hope for the world! Let’s all grow together and make great progress during this summer! Through caring about others who are suffering, empathising with them and taking action for them, we reveal the true value of our faith. Let’s be the source of assurance and hope that helps to enables our friends to illuminate their hearts! Youth who take courageous action are indeed the hope for people's resilience. To our youthful Bodhisattvas of the Earth, powerfully, wisely and cheerfully may you all stand up as pillars of our movement, Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land! The Daishonin teaches, “Both oneself and others together will take joy in their possession of wisdom and compassion." Everyone possesses the wellspring of boundless compassion within their lives. And it springs forth when we practice this Buddhism. Faith is the source of an indomitable spirit. No matter what kind of hardship might confront us, we are definitely able to overcome it! Right where we are now, never giving up, no matter what, let’s hoist high the banner of absolute victory! The bonds between people are the very strength and force that propel recovery and restoration particularly in times of disaster. Striving to never leave anyone feeling isolated, let’s keep in close communication and coordinate closely! The Daishonin encourages us, “The voice carries out the work of the Buddha.” The Daishonin encourages us, “[A tree] will not topple if it has a firm stake to hold it up." That being said, as long as there are people who can be there for us, there is no way we can be defeated. Everyone, let’s all strongly support our friends! Be cautious of heat stroke! Whatever you do, try not to overdo it. Be sure to drink plenty of liquids, replenish any sodium loss and remember climate control is also important. Those of you in the recent disaster areas, please try to stay healthy, too! I am wholeheartedly sending daimoku to those who have been affected by the disasters caused by the record torrential rains in the south-western and central parts of Japan. May you be safe! May you stay in good health! And may you be able to change poison into medicine! To all those affected by the torrential rains, I am sending you daimoku. May you be safe! May you stay healthy! May you change poison into medicine! |
