It’s essential for us to wisely, and with good common sense, manage our physical health! We all need to be careful of such seasonal illnesses as influenza, and to employ every means possible not to get unnecessarily tired out. With abundant wisdom and robust life force, let’s make every effort to stay on top of our health!
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
Ah, February, our traditional month for doing shakubuku, is here! Through the sincere caring heart-to-heart dialogue we have with others, the power to break through the limits and barriers that we ourselves have built is brought forth. By increasing the amount of determined daimoku we chant and summoning up even greater courage, let's make the only memory of our present lives in this human world. Life is more often than not a battle against ourselves and its because we have such challenges that we can savour life even more! And it’s because we have problems and struggles that we can do our human revolution. Joyfully and strongly, let’s continue to advance and succeed! To all of my dear friends of the Dedicated Soka Group and Gajo-kai (Young Men’s groups that support meetings and keep community centres secure), who are challenging themselves to share this Buddhism with others, never ever give up! Your vow will only come to have meaning when it is fulfilled. Proudly, spend your youth by forging yourself through various trials and tribulations! No great task has ever ben accomplished without passion and commitment. Great individuals are never nurtured without encountering hardships and struggles. I hope that will all become leaders of fervour and zeal! Let's live out this day to the very best of our ability with no regrets at the end of it! The accumulation of countless moments constantly spent in the pursuit of victory, are what build an unshakeable foundation for a strong solid self! Let’s put our very best into encouraging and developing our Future Division members! When we discover their strengths and openly praise and appreciate their efforts, we can help to bring out their best and help them to really blossom! The destiny of humankind depends on the growth and development of our precious successors. With the Gosho, the writings of Nichiren Daishonin, as a compass to guide us, let’s bravely confront any and all storms of hardships that assail us! By converting the furious gale of any ordeal we are facing into the tail wind for our advance, let’s live a magnificent voyage of life! The Daishonin encourages us with the following, "A daughter opens up the gate of another household."* From our joyful Young Women’s “Roman General Meetings"**, a solidarity of hope and happiness is born. With the palace of your hearts shining so radiantly, may you perform a beautiful dance of youthful victory aiming towards the future! "I'm going to see that person!" "I'm going to talk with this friend!" The more effort we make and the more action we take, the more people we can help to form a connection with Buddhism and the more joy we can share with them. Now, courageously and enthusiastically, let’s hasten to meet others! |
