Let’s be determined to have a truly meaningful time during this holiday period, free from any accident or incident. Let's be sure to drive safely (when and if we drive)! At the same time, whenever we go out, let’s double check all fire sources and be sure to lock up, physically pointing to each lock point!

Come on, let’s get out and about! To the exact extent that we meet with others and engage in meaningful conversation, our kosen-rufu movement expands. Let’s start off with a resolute prayer and chanting. Having lofty ideals helps to create a greater self. Let’s never forget the pledge we made in earlier days and strive steadfastly, even more so, along our chosen path! Doing so is certain to make us true victors in life. To inherit the responsibility for taking action and to propel a way into the future. These are the essential qualities and hallmarks of true successors. Youth, courageously hold aloft the banner of Soka. Now is the time for us to create a surge of fresh new waves of expansion! I urge the Young Women’s and Women's Division members to honour the “home by 10 p.m. after Gakkai activities!” guideline. Being casual or blase about this, thinking that a little bit over is alright, creates the room for accidents to occur. Exercise diligence in following the Daishonin's words:"..be even more careful than usual."* May all living beings have happiness, peace and security! This lofty spirit with which Nichiren Buddhism was established is being practised by SGI members all over the world. The Daishonin states, "But still I am not discouraged."* With such a steadfast and unyielding spirit, let’s challenge ourselves to engage in dialogue with as many people as we possibly can! Let’s praise with the utmost of respect those members who are selflessly devoting themselves to achieving kosen-rufu behind the scenes! Our kind heartfelt words of appreciation and warm thoughtful considerate attitude towards them will definitely become the driving force for our advancement. "I really want that person to have hope in their heart!” It’s chanting and taking action with such a strong prayer that makes our own lives shine. To realise the happiness of both ourselves and others is the very purpose of our faith and practice. May our voices resound with integrity and earnestness! Even just a word or two, if full of sincere concern, can inspire a friend and have the strength to cause a major change in their heart. Towards May 3rd, our Soka Gakkai Day, let's do all we can to spread hope and courage! United as members of the Soka family, let's take one step and then another, scaling the mountain of challenges that lies in front of us! |
