Let's make sure that our planning meetings and all our other meetings finish as scheduled! Leaders talks should not be too long and the points of their talk need to be quite clear. Let's try to be well-prepared for each meeting.
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
The Gosho says: "The stronger one's faith, the greater the protection of the gods."* A person who stands up with a strong and sincere attitude towards their practice never fails to gain the protection of the forces of the universe! Let’s make sure we all stay in good health and that all of our endeavours are free from accidents and incidents. The driving force of our movement for kosen-rufu comes from the strenuous efforts of those in vice leadership positions or supporting roles as they sincerely carry out their noble missions! Let’s establish a splendid solidarity of capable and talented people in our cherished neighbourhoods. Let’s make the start of each day one of exchanging warm, refreshing greetings with the people we meet in our neighbourhood and work place. Our very presence, overflowing with a powerful life force, is what radiates trust around us! Our new members are our treasures of hope. Let’s wholeheartedly cherish them. With a refreshed spirit, let’s pray together, take action together and play out a drama of our own human revolution! Great developments are achieved by us first of all, challenging ourselves. To all of my dear friends, the key players in the development of the future, don’t be afraid to make mistakes or of encountering failure. Put your dreams into action without hesitation! Go for it! Where people’s voices resound with song, there is advancement full of hope. Singing aloud “Youth with a Noble Vow* (Chikai no kimi yo)" together, let’s construct a new era of SGI victories! Let's always remember to express our sincerest appreciation to those people who are so kind to offer their homes/buildings for our meetings. At the same time it is important to show the utmost respect and consideration to their neighbours. It’s because we have such treasure like castles locally that kosen-rufu joyfully advances. Helping someone to grow and develop means that we need to go and meet and talk with them. It requires us to challenge and take action side by side with them. It’s about how we ourselves challenge our own situations (and show them how it’s done.) Let’s become “leaders" who can give hope and encouragement to others! Our practice is here to help us shine in a way that is truly “us.” By chanting and in the midst of taking action let’s cultivate and polish our hearts. Let's live like a protagonist in a glorious drama of life! |
