The Daishonin encourages us to be "filial towards our father and mother."* A person who can repay their debt of gratitude to their parents is indeed a truly great person. Through what we say and do let's do all we can to convey our appreciation to our parents.

Let's widely share our philosophy of the deep respect for human life with one person after another! This is the grand path that will lead to a truly peaceful world.
Our faith manifests itself in our daily lives. Let's remind ourselves never to become careless or overconfident. One day of life is more valuable than all the treasures of the entire universe.* Let's therefore, live out our lives by using all of our wisdom (through our faith and practice).
Whenever you have to drive, be determined to stay absolutely accident-free. All of our lives are so precious and we each have great noble missions to fulfill. Never become careless or overconfident in your driving and always make safety your top priority!
To all of the members in our SGI brass bands and fife and drum corps, thank you all so much for your heartfelt and energetic performances at all the various public events you support. Everyone is so inspired by your moving and hope-filled "wonderful sound,"* and rousingly applauds you all!
Summer is a perfect opportunity to pass on our faith and practice to the next generation. Let's try to do gongyo and chant daimoku with our children. While listening carefully and patiently to all that they have to say, let's share with them our family's kosen-rufu stories. Let's try to spend quality time each and every day!
