Let's give the best encouragement we possibly can to those youth members who are challenging themselves to complete their goals and targets for this year by courageously guiding their friends to practice this Buddhism! Knowing that their seniors in faith are sincerely chanting for their victories and are always there to support them is the force that will help them to break down all the walls they face.
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
It is through experiencing various hardships that we can become a person who really understands other people’s sufferings and can guide them to happiness. To all of our youth, by confronting the fierce winds of obstacles, try to establish unshakable confidence in yourself!
The daimoku we chant towards the fulfillment of the great vow of kosen-rufu is, in fact, the greatest of all joys.* Let’s transform the hardships we face into a source of happiness, our karma into our mission, and enact the triumphant drama of our human revolution!
We are now in the busy, final stretch of the year. Let's be creative with how we go about cleaning, tidying up and organizing our surroundings. Let’s make the kind of efforts that will help us to refresh our spirits and prepare us for welcoming in the new year!
I hope that leaders will do absolutely all they can to protect the privacy of members, no matter what! The bonds of trust we share with each other are the very lifeline of our organisation.
Let's use caution when we walk or drive on snow and icy roads. Let's avoid carelessness and overconfidence and leave with ample time to get to where we need to get to. To all of our Seikyo Shimbun Newspaper and other SGI publication deliverers especially, please make safety your number one priority!
The beautiful field of kosen-rufu is developed and expanded when we have a diverse range of talents. Let’s use all our creative ideas and make every effort so that each individual can let their unique character and abilities fully blossom.
Those who remain unwavering and supportive of others are blessed with good friends. Let’s cherish our old friends and at the same time let’s take every possible opportunity to make new ones. Friendships are indeed lifelong treasures.
The Daishonin encourages us, "Teach others to the best of your ability, even if it is only a single sentence or phrase."* Let's share this Buddhism with others, in our own words, in a way that we feel confident about, even if it is just a few words. All we need to have is courage!
Through the power of sincere faith and courageous actions, we can unleash the boundless power of the Buddha and the Law! With strong resolute chanting and concrete action let’s make the impossible, possible!
