The Daishonin encourages us with the words, “I entrust you with the propagation of Buddhism in your province.” Today again, by engaging in courageous and sincere conversation with others, let’s help as many people as possible to form a connection with Buddhism! Let’s become a beacon of light that brightens our community just as would a lighthouse!
Translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, with universal value and application
It’s that time of year when many of us get quite fatigued due to changes in the environment. Besides chanting daimoku for each other’s good health, let's be sure to remind each other about looking after our health! Brimming with robust life force, let’s advance vigorously!
Celebrating this glorious 67th anniversary of Seikyo Newspaper's establishment, my deepest appreciation goes out to all of the readers, deliverers, local reporters and those who promote subscriptions to it! By making good use of the “Seikyo" of the world (and all our other SGI publications,) let’s spread words of encouragement far and wide!
By encouraging each other in our faith and practice and being perfectly united in mind although different in body (aiming towards our mutual goal of achieving kosen-rufu), we’re able to unlock our respective potential ten thousand times and bring forth our courage and wisdom a million fold. By being good friends to each other, let’s forever cheerfully advance together!
The Daishonin assures us, “Those who hear even a single sentence or phrase of the Lotus Sutra will attain Buddhahood without fail." The benefit from having the opportunity to hear even a single sentence or phrase of Buddhism is just so immeasurable. For the sake of the happiness of our friends, let’s continue to share this Buddhism with others without ever giving up!
People who clarify their goals each morning, and then strive to pursue them throughout the day, are strong. In the absence of laser-sharp focusing, it is difficult to bring forth our true potential. Let’s strive in our endeavours with ever developing faith and practice!
There is no retirement age to this practice, there is no retirement to our life's mission. “This is it! From now!” Those of you who always look ahead, are the very kings and queens of life itself!
Those who are endeavouring in new jobs and the working economy, never give up! The experiences and hardship you face while young become a stepping stone into your future. Practising this faith allows us to change our earthly desires into enlightenment. Let's live each day creating value!
The Daishonin teaches us, “Words echo the thoughts of the mind and find expression through the voice.” By encouraging our fellow members with words full of sincerity and assurance, along with wholeheartedly chanting daimoku for them, let’s foster capable talented members dedicated to kosen-rufu, and help them fully blossom in our communities!
