Today is Japan Press Holiday. We will be back tomorrow.
The SGI is a community where everyone encourages each other in both good and bad times. With our solidarity of good friends, let's advance no matter what happens by changing poison into medicine! Let’s offer warm heartfelt words of encouragement to those who are presently facing hardship!
The Gosho states: "Words echo the thoughts of the mind and find expression through the voice." As we celebrate the ‘week of encouragement,’ let us use heartfelt words to reach out to others, imparting a feeling of reassurance, and at the same time inspiring them with hope!
We have been experiencing torrential rains in almost every part of Japan. Please be extremely wary of flash flooding or sudden downpours. I hope that the deliverers of our SGI publications will also exercise the utmost of precaution, keeping safety as their top priority.
As a “leader” of kosen-rufu, be conscientious! At times be bold and daring! May your strong chanting be the key to your actions and the history you create a brilliant example for everyone to follow!
The Daishonin encourages us to “believe continuously without ever regressing." By having faith like clear, pure, flowing water, Let’s all build a palace of unshakable happiness in our lives!
It’s our resolute spirit to challenge extreme hardships that enables us to unlock our potential and to fully manifest our inherent strengths and abilities. No matter what the difficulties we might be facing are, let’s never give up or give in! Let’s create the most exhilarating happiness in our lives!
Now is the month of youth! With a youthful spirit, let’s all try to have conversations which are full of hope and conviction with as many people as we can. Just as the Daishonin encourages us, let’s call forth the youthful Bodhisattvas of the Earth one by one, one after another, “two, three and even a hundred” of them.
Let’s try to spend some quality time with our children! Our honest creative efforts to make time to be with them, even if our daily schedule is indeed hectic, is what strengthens the bonds between us and our children. Let’s make some happy family memories together!
With sincere and caring hearts for others, let’s become the type of people whom others can feel, “When I see that person, I feel at ease." To lift our friend’s spirits is one of the noblest actions that we can take as a Buddhist.
