To remonstrate means to lodge a protest against a person wielding absolute power or authority. One cannot take on authorities without a fierce determination to face even life-threatening persecution. It is with this spirit that the Daishonin took the action he did. He simply couldn’t suppress his desire to relieve people of their suffering.
