Our organization of people dedicated to good that struggles against iniquity is a natural consequence of the wish to expand goodness in the Latter Day of the Law and realize peace, stability and happiness for all.
In essence, devilish functions seek to create divisions within gatherings of good people. Evil people band together with ease. We must never forget that we are in constant battle with these forces.
It’s analogous to how water readily collects in a depression in the ground. Since evil people have shallow objectives, they quickly collude based on mutual ambitions or interests.
How important it is to have unity based on a lofty objective. This precious organization of kosen-rufu absolutely must not be destroyed. Construction requires tenacious and painstaking effort, while destruction takes but an instant.
Even trusting relationships that have been cultivated over many years may be suddenly ruined by some divisive force. Such is the fearful nature of devilish functions, which is why we must be able to see through them.
