Special Report on Injustice faced by Jay Hou (Part 1)
Thanks to Winston Choo’s precious contribution by sharing Jay Hou’s facebook posting on the timeline of Hosshaku Kempon, which led the editorial team to probe deeper into Jay Hou’s spiritual maltreatment effectuated by SSA HQ staff.
Jay Hou, City Zone YMD Chief, scheduled his trip to Japan from 21st Nov to 2nd Dec 2013. Visiting the newly open Soka Gakkai Headquarter in Shinanomachi was his main priority or the apex of this trip. His application to visit Soka Gakkai HQ was met with a sudden and shocking rejection when an SSA HQ staff, Janet Yeo, called him on 20th Nov to explain that due to the change of procedure, she was unable to issue a letter based on a new format in time for his visit. As all roads were closed for him in making his dream come true, he could only be armed with Daimoku, coupled with his strong resolve that he could visit the new centre in Shinanomachi on 2nd Dec (Monday), not knowing that the newly open centre is closed on Monday. Armed with the determination to fulfill the purpose of this trip, he decided to visit Josei Toda International Centre on 29th Nov (Friday), a few days in advance, to obtain the entry ticket. Although Jay Hou was warmly received by a polite Soka Gakkai Kaikan staff attending to his unique case, the letter of old format issued by SSA HQ was rejected. Nonetheless, the Japanese staff offered his help by proposing to Jay Hou to make contact to SSA HQ to request the staff to get the letter signed on e-copy. With the signature on the e-copy, the Japanese staff was able to assist Jay Hou in obtaining the entry ticket for the Sunday’s session. Walking the extra mile, the Japanese staff proceeded to call SSA HQ staff to clarify on Jay Hou’s case and further reminded the SSA HQ staff that the new hall is closed on Monday. This spirit displayed by the Japanese staff truly emulates Sensei’s and that is to always place the members first in the priority. Worried that the relevant SSA HQ staff will not be working the next day which is a Saturday, Jay Hou headed back to his hotel where he can gain internet access to send an email to SSA HQ. He was also advised by Janet and RHQ3 YMD Chief, Jarrod to route the email to SSA GD too since he is the one who will eventually sign the letter. At last the saviour emerged. It was Ngeok Joon, another SSA HQ staff, who was tasked by SSA GD to handle the matter. Finally, Jay Hou received a trunk call from Ngeok Joon. Instead of assisting Jay Hou in resolving the issue to obtain an entry ticket to visit the newly open HQ in Japan, she threw the following punches blatantly to Jay Hou:- 1) In the first place, why did you tell Janet that you are not visiting the Hall of the Great Vow for Kosen Rufu? 2) Who was the Japanese Kaikan Staff that dare to even provide the solution of e-copy for such serious matter? Before Jay Hou could recover from the impact of collision caused by the 2 punches, he continued to receive further blows. Ngeok Joon remarked further: 1) Since the new HQ/Hall in Japan is going to be opened for eternity, there is no hurry for Jay Hou to visit it now. 2) Beside, all SSA members who plan to visit the newly open Hall have to attend a briefing in person at SSA HQ. Jay Hou must have been really shaken to the core, with his tiny glimpse of hope badly destroyed, when he witnessed a cruel turn of event, from the emergence of a supposedly saviour to becoming a demon. From the onset, never has Jay Hou ever related to Janet that he was not visiting The Hall of Great Vow for Kosen Rufu. Why in the first place, did SSA HQ staffs, be it Janet or Ngeok Joon, jump the gun to determine that Jay Hou was not visiting the newly open hall? Could there be some kind of miscommunication among the staffs? Perhaps there is, but on the part of whether the Hall of Great Vow for Kosen Rufu stands for eternity, since the main purpose of Jay Hou’s trip to Japan is to visit the newly open HQ and this hall, of what right does anyone hold to deprive him from achieving his goal? Rather than giving optimal assistance to Jay Hou to fulfil his dream, why did Ngeok Joon bent on holding the Japanese staff to task for proposing the e-copy? Was this method of intimidation ritual frequently used by this particular WD top leader, to abruptly shut off someone’s further request? Hosshaku Kempon editorial team has indeed contemplated for a while before making the decision to publish this article. We fret about the consequence once this article is published. Will our WD top leader take this opportunity to lash at the Japanese staff? Nevertheless, an injustice is a violation of a person’s right. This term can also be referred to unfair treatment such as depriving someone’s right. We strongly believe that injustice that occurs anywhere is a threat to justice. Hence, we shall spare no effort to ensure that all injustice is reported and leave no stone unturned. To be continued… Sneak preview In Part 2 of this Special Report, we shall continue to share the guidelines of visiting the newly open HQ in Shinanomachi, published by Taiwan Soka Association. It was not as complex as what Ngeok Joon had bragged. We shall also share on… Did Jay Hou manage to visit the newly open Hall of Great Vow for Kosen-rufu? Indeed he did, but how did he make it? Was Jay Hou affected by the no-no-no replies from SSA Hq staff? How did he manage to overcome all odds and emerge as victor in this winter cold environment and SSA organization? STAY TUNED… |
